My name is Joanne Kinney, and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and Board-Certified Counselor as recognized by the National Board for Certified Counselors. I hold a Master of Science degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Mercer University.
My experience includes working in residential and outpatient treatment, community mental health providing in-home and in-school counseling, and private practice. I am an empathetic, strength-oriented counselor with a passion for helping individuals and families heal from past struggles, resolve conflicts and experience growth.

I enjoy working with a wide spectrum of clients and specialize in the assessment & treatment of depression, anxiety, interpersonal problems, and complex cases involving teens, adults, couples and families. My approach integrates several therapy models depending on my client’s specific needs and goals. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy and Mindfulness practices, Family Systems Therapy, and Solution Focused Brief Therapy may be utilized.
